Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening of Financial Aid Specialist.
Under the direction of the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the administration of Federal, State and Institutional Financial Aid Programs. Perform varied and involved administrative and computer data entry duties as well as advise students and parents in an accurate and customer friendly manner in the financial aid process, eligibility and procedures. This position will review and evaluate applications and make award adjustments on less complex issues. In addition the Financial Aid Specialist will be responsible for packaging awards, monitoring expenditures and reconciling data.
Primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Provide information to students and their families regarding financial aid programs.
Assist students with interpretation of financial aid status and eligibility for programs.
Reviews, verifies, and processes applications and supporting documents in accordance with established guidelines to determine financial aid eligibility in coordination with Associate Director.
Prepares financial aid packages, including grants and loan certification in coordination with Associate Director.
Perform data analysis to identify discrepancies in data and determines action for resolution.
Process financial aid letters and manage data files.
Import financial aid applications using ED Express.
Prepare and review reports including monitoring expenditures and reconciling data.
Serve on the Financial Aid SAP Committee
Serve as back up for maintaining the RVCC Financial Aid website and post notices and announcements.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the services provided by the Student Enrollment Center and other College departments in order to respond to inquiries appropriately and accurately.
Maintains ongoing knowledge of Federal, State, and College financial aid/ loan regulations.
Perform Financial Aid presentations on and off-campus.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requires weekly evening office hours and Saturday events as assigned.
