The Office of Financial Aid (OFA) is an integral part of Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N). It’s a key partner in advancing the University’s purpose and strategic plans for access and affordability. We are committed to removing financial barriers to student enrollment and retention. To accomplish this, the Office of Financial Aid strives to balance responsible stewardship of all federal, state, private, and internal aid resources. Core services are built around a student-centered culture, working with our students and their families to seek, obtain, and make informed financial aid decisions through financial literacy and outreach. We are working to establish ourselves as a leader in financial aid services, using technology to streamline processes, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote scholarship opportunities to make higher education possible for all students.
We are committed to providing exemplary service in a fair, sensitive, and confidential environment to all students, families, the University community, and the community at large, regardless of background, culture, or lifestyle. Without bias or judgment, our objective is to equitably assess federal, state, and institutional financial aid resources, scholarships, grants, loans, and employment opportunities for eligible students.
